The Annual Pavement Preservation Program keeps streets in good condition, provides residents with better driving conditions, extends the lives of streets, and protects the public's infrastructure investment. This year's project is treating Maintenance Zone 5 and portions of Zone 6 (view map) that were deferred from last year’s project to minimize construction impacts on school traffic around Travis Ranch. To date, the contractor has completed the replacement of 211 ADA ramps and has placed over 30,000 tons of new asphalt.
The majority of asphalt paving work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, September 8. Once paving is complete, a slurry seal treatment will be applied to the remaining streets in the project area. Completion of the slurry portion of the project is anticipated by October, with overall project completion by November. Door hangers with additional information will be distributed to help minimize construction impacts to the public. During construction, drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians are advised to be prepared for delays or take alternate routes, watch for traffic or lane changes, proceed slowly, and be alert to workers and equipment in the roadway.
