Construction crews have made significant progress on the Bastanchury Road Widening Project between Casa Loma and Eureka avenues. The improvements on the north side of Bastanchury Avenue are mostly complete, and so travel lanes have been shifted to that side. Improvements on the south side of Bastanchury Avenue will begin with the demolition of existing property walls in mid-September. Then, new retaining walls and property walls will be constructed, which will allow for the southern lanes' grade to be raised to be even with the newly constructed northern lanes.
New streetlights have also been installed on the north side of street, while SCE has also removed the streetlights on the south side. The project is anticipated to be completed next spring. The project also includes all new landscape installation, trail construction, and new traffic signals as well.
