Due to the continuing rain, progress in the Santa Ana riverbed has slowed significantly since January. While the majority of this Army Corps of Engineers project is already complete, the final stage of landscaping and irrigation work continues. The project contractor has recently completed the installation of the irrigation mainline and continues to make erosion repairs after each storm event. Installation of new landscaping and hydroseeding in the riverbed area is scheduled next. The construction of a permanent driveway and pedestrian connection at La Palma and Camino De Bryant is now scheduled for mid-April. The project is still expected to be fully wrapped up in May if the weather cooperates.
City staff will continue to work with the Corps and their contractor to help mitigate impacts on residents in the project vicinity.
