The Army Corps of Engineers' project to improve the Santa Ana Riverbed is nearing completion. However, due to the inclement weather, the riverbed restoration and overall completion of the project has been delayed until mid-May. The project contractor is currently working on installing the irrigation system required to restore native vegetation. In the next few weeks, the contractor will continue the installation of landscaping and repair erosion damage from the recent storms. The permanent driveway and pedestrian connection at La Palma Avenue and Camino De Bryant will be the last work item before the contractor demobilizes and the project is officially finished. City staff will continue working with the Corps and their contractor to help mitigate impacts on residents.
