As required by State Law, Senate Bill 1383, Republic Services must conduct contamination audits by the end of the calendar year. Therefore, Republic Services staff, in safety vests, will be in the community reviewing the contents of trash, recycling, and organics containers. If contamination is found, a courtesy tag will be placed on the cart noting the incorrect items. No contamination fee will be assessed at this point. Only a small number of residential and commercial accounts will be chosen randomly for the audit.
