Dear Yorba Linda Residents & Businesses,

Effective Friday, May 8, 2020, many Yorba Linda retail businesses were allowed to re-open with modified operations, including curbside pickup and delivery services, following the direction set forth by Governor Gavin Newsom. Further direction was given on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, by Governor Newsom allowing additional business types to also begin to operate under modified conditions.

The decisions to slowly reopen our economy are based upon State guidelines, health indicators and statistical data. I am hopeful that with the community’s support and cooperation, residents and businesses will continue to respect the process for re-opening our community safely and efficiently.

The following businesses have been authorized to reopen pursuant to Governor Newsom’s direction. All retail stores are eligible to open for curbside pick-up and deliveries only, with no in-store shopping services permitted at this time:

  • Antique stores;
  • Book stores;
  • Car washes;
  • Clothing stores;
  • Florists;
  • Home and furnishing stores;
  • Jewelry stores;
  • Landscaping services;
  • Music stores;
  • Office-based businesses, where remote work is not possible;
  • Outdoor malls, strip malls, outlet malls (curbside pick-up only);
  • Outdoor museums, botanical gardens, and open gallery spaces;
  • Pet grooming;
  • Shoe stores;
  • Sporting goods stores; and
  • Toy stores.

Supply chains in manufacturing and logistics sectors supporting the above businesses also can reopen pursuant to the established guidelines. All previously open essential businesses and workplaces can continue to operate.

All businesses are strongly advised to follow the State guidelines in order to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Please refer to the State’s website for the specific industry guidelines. Additionally, the County of Orange is establishing county-wide procedures for phased re-openings and will be submitting to the State for approval. The City intends to share any information related to guidelines specific to Orange County with our residents and business community via our communication sources, including the City’s website at and our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Thank you,

Dr. Beth Haney,

Mayor, The City of Yorba Linda
