This month, each household in the United States will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. Conducted every 10 years as mandated in the U.S. Constitution, the Census is a count of every person living in the United States and provides critical data that determines the local allocation of federal funding, congressional representation, and more. Individuals are able to complete the Census by phone, by mail, or, for the first time in history, online. When responding to the Census, individuals should respond with where they will be living on April 1, 2020. For additional information about the U.S. Census, view the Census Made Simple PSA, or visit the U.S. Census Bureau website.
