The sale of the lower 12.64 acres of the West Bastanchury property (known as the Base Site), reached an exciting milestone at the City Council Meeting on December 3, 2019, when the City entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement and Joint Escrow Instructions (PSA) with developer Shea Homes. The City-owned land, which is located north of Bastanchury Road between Casa Loma and Eureka Avenue, was earmarked to sell by City Council in 2017 to assist in funding the construction of the Cultural Arts Center. Consistent with the zoning, Shea Homes plans to build 23 single-family estate lots on the property. The City Council continues to assess land use alternatives for the upper 27 acres of the property.
