Two Yorba Linda City Council Members were recently appointed to represent the City of Yorba Linda on local boards.
Council Member Carlos Rodriguez was appointed to serve on the Governing Board for South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD). AQMD is charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive basin-wide air quality management plan for the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, and the non-desert portions of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Board Members discuss ways to improve air quality and establish effective clean air programs. The Board receives reports from South Coast AQMD's Executive Officer and staff who recommend new rules or rule amendments to help reduce air pollution.
Council Member Gene Hernandez was appointed for a second year to serve on the Board of Directors for Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). OCTA’s responsibilities, programs and services impact every aspect of transportation within the state’s third largest county. Board members are tasked with advising OCTA in their efforts to reduce freeway congestion, improve safety and efficiency on local roads, provide bus service and regional multimodal connections, help people find ways to leave their cars home, and provide safe, convenient transportation to those with special needs.
