About Council Member Campbell

Councilwoman Tara Campbell has served on the Yorba Linda City Council since 2016.  


Councilwoman Campbell currently works for the County of Orange as Chief of Staff for Supervisor Donald P. Wagner who represents the cities of Yorba Linda, Anaheim, Orange, Villa Park, Tustin and Irvine. She works on issues related to transportation, healthcare, infrastructure, and public safety. Previously, Councilwoman Campbell served as Communications Director for Supervisor Andrew Do. Prior to her work at the County of Orange, Councilwoman Campbell oversaw the cities of Yorba Linda, Placentia, Brea, and La Habra for State Assemblywoman Ling Ling Chang, coordinating special events for over 500,000 constituents including Child Safety Fairs, Small Business Boost Seminars, Senior Health Fairs, and more.

Previous Experience

Prior to serving on the City Council, Councilwoman Campbell was appointed unanimously to Yorba Linda’s Parks and Recreation Commission in 2015 and was immediately elected as Chair Pro Tem. She served as Chairwoman of the Commission where she prioritized revitalizing our parks and ensuring the safety of children in City parks. She also served on Yorba Linda’s Sports Advisory Committee and Yorba Linda Public Library’s One Book, One City Committee.


Councilwoman Campbell received her Master of Public Administration, along with a Certificate of Public Policy from University of Southern California (USC). She also received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and Broadcast and Digital Journalism from USC. She is proud to bring her education back to her hometown.


Councilwoman Campbell was born and raised in Yorba Linda. She attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Yorba Linda, before heading to Rosary Academy in Fullerton. Councilwoman Campbell’s family has lived in Yorba Linda for almost 30 years. She enjoys playing basketball in Yorba Linda’s Adult Women’s Basketball League and spending time with her family, especially her nieces, Emma and Parker.
