Teen night Out

Ages:12-15 years old

Get ready for the night(mare) of your life! Recreation staff is hosting a special Halloween Teen Excursion to Knott's Scary Farm!  Grab your friends and join us for a night of fun and terror as we brave a variety of haunted mazes and exhibitions at the largest Halloween event in the area.  Participants will meet at the Field House and be transported to and from the event, and will be chaperoned by Recreation Staff.  Don't miss out on this spooktacular night!  Register online to save your spot.  Spaces will fill up quickly!


Youth empowerment service day

Saturday, November 17 

10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House

The Youth Empowerment Service Day is designed to provide students, grades 6-12, the opportunity to give back and make a difference in their communities.  Join us as inspirational guest speaker Todd Frazier, founder of Do Things, along with DT Apparel, will motivate, inspire, empower, and encourage you in whatever you do.  Students will also spend time creating care packages, cards, and paracord bracelets for our active military! Would you like to donate items for the kits? Bring the following unopened items to the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House or Yorba Linda Public Library from September 17 – October 31, 2018.

  1. Gallon-sized Ziploc Bags
  2. Shower or Body Wipes (individual or 10 pack max.)
  3. Disposable Razors
  4. Travel Size Deodorant
  5. Travel Size Hand Sanitizer
  6. Travel Size Lotion
  7. Travel Size Mouthwash
  8. Travel Size Nail Clippers/Emery Boards

This event is organized through the Parks and Recreation Department and the Yorba Linda Public Library, with support from the Yorba Linda 11th MEU.


Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities are available for Yorba Linda students in grades 9-12 who need service hours for school and are enthusiastic about giving back to their community! Opportunities include volunteering at various recreation programs and special events. Completed packets may be submitted to the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House (714) 961-7192.
