Traffic Signals & Coordination

The City has implemented a traffic signal synchronization program allowing residents to commute in the mornings and evenings with minimum delay. All traffic signals within the city limits on Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard are part of a regional coordinated system, and motorists may find themselves getting most of the green lights during peak hours.

Peak Hours

Peak hours generally occur in the mornings between 7 and 9 a.m. and in the evenings between 3 and 6 p.m. Since priority is given to major arterials when traffic signals are coordinated, drivers on side streets and in left turn lanes may have to wait up to two minutes.

Non-Peak Hours

Traffic signals are not coordinated during non-peak hours to serve those making local trips within the community. Therefore, motorists may encounter more stops while traveling on major arterials during non-peak travel times.
