The Public Works Department is responsible for administering and managing the section of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) associated with public infrastructure, such as:
- Roads
- Storm drain facilities
- Traffic signals
The CIP identifies major public project improvements, repairs, and upgrades to existing facilities for the City’s infrastructure over a five-year period.
Funding
The majority of funding for right-of-way capital projects is provided by a combination of state and local transportation fund sources. These include the State Gas Tax and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Measure M Program.
The City of Yorba Linda receives annual allocations under both of the aforementioned funding programs and has also been successful in obtaining various competitive grants through OCTA and the State of California for specific projects.
