Trail & Street Tree Maintenance

Responsibilities

The Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and care of approximately 3,800 street trees located within the public right-of-way and on public property. This includes the following: 

  • Planting
  • Root Pruning
  • Specialized Tree Activities
  • Tree Inspections
  • Tree Removal
  • Tree Trimming

Tree Trimming Maintenance

The Operations and Management Division also respond to fallen limbs and hazardous tree situations, which typically occur during storms. Tree trimming is performed by City contractors that are easily identifiable. The City is currently on a three-year trimming cycle. Trail and trail fence maintenance is conducted in part by both the Operations and Maintenance Division and the LMAD Division, depending upon location.
