Yorba Linda Town Center
Located near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard, the Yorba Linda Town
Center is the heart of Yorba Linda's historic downtown area, along with Main Street, where there are several buildings dating from the early 1900s. Also included are pedestrian-friendly street-scape improvements on Main Street to impart a small-town atmosphere to this potentially vibrant commercial district. Existing uses within the Town Center include:
- Historic church
- Local fire station
- Retail and office along Main Street
- Yorba Linda Public Library
Public Improvements & Facilities
The City intends to expand the Town Center to create an area where residents and visitors can shop and dine. Anticipated new public improvements and facilities include a relocated and expanded public library, a community commons area, public parking, enhanced pedestrian linkages and a new streetscape along Imperial Highway, Yorba Linda Boulevard, Lakeview Avenue, and Main Street. The development of the downtown area has been a project in the making for over 26 years. It is marked by the onset of a community vision and the initial acquisition of several properties in the area, which began to take shape in the early 90s.
The Town Center Specific Plan was adopted in 2011 and later that same year, the City Council selected Zelman Development Company to acquire the property and develop the site. After years of negotiations and extensive site planning, on November 1, 2016, Zelman broke ground on the highly anticipated Yorba Linda Town Center project.
The new Yorba Linda Town Center is currently under construction and expected to open in late fall 2018. The retail center will be a pedestrian-friendly, high-end entertainment, and restaurant project consisting of over 125,000 square feet of shopping and entertainment. The Yorba Linda Town Center is anchored by a Regal movie theater and Bristol Farms specialty grocer centered around a 0.75-acre open space “commons” area. Please refer to the Conceptual Site Plan for building pad and amenity locations. On going construction photos can be seen at the Yorba Linda Town Center Photo Gallery.
