Commission Information
Serving on one of the City’s Commissions offers an opportunity for public involvement in the governmental process, a service where member contributions are invaluable to the City Council and the City.

Building Board of Appeals
The City of Yorba Building Board of Appeals' function is to consider and decide appeals to the application and interpretation of the technical (non-administrative) provisions of the adopted building codes made by the City of Yorba Linda. The Building Board of Appeals meets on an as-needed basis only. Its members are not City employees, but they are knowledgeable in the applicable building codes, regulations, and ordinances.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee serves as the City’s Audit Committee, with responsibility for reviewing the City’s annual financial reports and meeting with the City’s external auditors to discuss the external audit.

Library Commission
The Yorba Linda Public Library has been serving the needs of our community since 1913. Five residents are responsible for advising the City Council and Library staff on policies related to Library services.

Parks & Recreation Commission
Yorba Linda is blessed with some of the finest park and recreation facilities in Orange County. The responsibility for advising the City Council on these facilities and other matters relating to community recreation programs falls to the Parks and Recreation Commission, which consists of five residents appointed by the City Council.

Planning Commission
The Yorba Linda Planning Commission consists of five residents from both the private and public sectors of the community, each of whom bring an expertise to the commission, whether it be in urban planning, architectural or landscape design, citizen concerns, business needs, or engineering feasibility.

Traffic Commission
Traffic safety and congestion management are just two of the important areas of responsibility for the five members of the Yorba Linda Traffic Commission.

Yorba Linda Water Board / Advisory Committee
The City formed an Advisory Committee (standing committee) with the Yorba Linda City Council and the Yorba Linda Water District Board of Directors to collectively discuss Water District and City-related issues.
